Getting Started
How do I upload my financial data?
Go to Upload Data → choose CSV/XLSX, Xero, QuickBooks, or Demo Data. CSV format: one row per period (e.g. 2026-Q1) with columns: revenue, gross_profit, operating_expenses, net_income, etc.
What is the Q Score?
A composite health score (0-100, A-D grade). Computed across up to 6 domains: Financial (from your P&L / cash flow), Liquidity (from your balance sheet), Marketing, SEO, Operations, and Customer Feedback. Higher = healthier business. Financial and Liquidity light up automatically from your uploaded accounting data; Marketing, SEO, Operations, and Customer Feedback require connecting the relevant adapter (Settings → Connections) — until then your Q Score is computed on the available domains only.
Do I need to follow a specific order?
No. Use Command Centre as your home. Pulse, Forecast, and Board Pack are all accessible any time once you have data uploaded.
Forecast & Scenarios
How does the forecast engine work?
Deterministic 3-statement model. With 3+ quarters of actuals, BriskQ uses linear regression. With 1-2 quarters, growth rate. You can override with manual assumptions.
What scenarios are available?
Base Case (statistical), Optimistic (+10% revenue, GM expansion), Downside (-15% revenue, cost pressure). All editable in the inline scenario panel.
What is the Revenue Model dropdown?
Aggregate uses total revenue. Driver-Based decomposes revenue into Units × Price for SaaS or product businesses with segment data.
Budgeting
How do I create a budget?
Go to Forecast → Budget tab. Professional plan: enter budget for 7 metrics, see variance vs actuals. CFO Suite: full departmental budget with headcount planning.
What is the budget workflow?
CFO Suite includes Submit → Review → Approve → Lock workflow. Department heads submit, CFO approves, locked budgets are immutable for audit.
Data & Privacy
Where is my data stored?
Local mode: in-memory only, discarded after session. Cloud mode (default): PostgreSQL on Railway, EU region. Connected mode: Cloud + auto-sync from Xero/QB.
Does AI see my financial numbers?
No. The deterministic engine never calls an LLM. AI chat is opt-in and only sees anonymised ratios (no absolute numbers, no company name).
How do I delete my data?
Settings → Data Residency → Delete All Data. Type "DELETE" to confirm. Wipes all CDF records, snapshots, and audit trail.
Common Issues
Forecast shows "Balance sheet does not balance" error
Total Assets must equal Liabilities + Equity. Check your opening balance sheet in Settings. Common cause: retained earnings not updated for prior period income.
Command Centre shows "—" for all metrics
You haven't run a forecast yet. Go to Forecast → click Re-run Forecast or Try with Demo Data.
Email not arriving
Check spam folder. Ensure your domain (briskq.com) DNS records are configured (SPF, DKIM). If still missing, contact support@briskq.com.
